The Sabena story began in 1949 in a tiny factory located in Casselton Place Melbourne. The newly arrived European refugee, Paul Grosman set about to make beautifully tailored coats or Australian women. In the early 1960’s Sabena began importing Cashmere, Mohair and Wool as well as other woollen fabrics from England and Europe. So the business has continued throughout the decades at the forefront of the Australian coat industry.

Today the 3rd generation family owned business remains in Melbourne, with its headquarters located in Caulfield East. Although it sources products from around the globe, Sabena’s classic woollen coats and jackets are still manufactured from the finest wool fibres. For more than 60 years, Sabena has been designing classic, luxurious coats & jackets which have become the instinctive first choice of the stylish modern woman.

In 2003, Sabena created, designed and marketed very successfully its contemporary coat range – Pretty in Pink. This collection is fresh & trendy for the self-confident & outgoing young woman. PIP is sold throughout Australia & New Zealand in select boutiques.

Again in 2011, acknowledging that there was serious shortage of classic tailored jackets available in the market; Sabena launched its latest coat brand, Kesta London. Approximately half the Kesta range is produced in the U.K. from the finest European fabrics with a strong emphasis on quality, craftsmanship and attention to detail. This brand is sophisticated and dynamic and available from a limited number of boutiques.

Sabena also develops and produces complete private label brand programs for many of the countries top-ranked apparel retailers. With its global sourcing network that includes long established production partnerships throughout Asia, U.K and Europe, Sabena is well equipped to supply coats to every level of the industry.
